Lagos police probe after live ammunition was dispatched to the residence of a bank MD

The Lagos State Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation after an anonymous package containing two rounds of live ammunition was delivered to the residence of First Bank Managing Director, Oluwasegun Adebiosu.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, disclosed this on Tuesday, June 23, during a press briefing at the command headquarters.

According to CP Fatai, the incident occurred on May 7, when an unidentified dispatch rider delivered an envelope to Adebiosu’s Lagos home. Security personnel at the residence accepted the parcel and subsequently handed it over to the bank chief.

“Upon opening the envelope, the First Bank Managing Director discovered two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition concealed inside,” the police boss stated. He added that the package contained no accompanying letter, note, or information regarding the sender.

CP Fatai assured the public that the police are treating the matter with utmost urgency.

“A thorough investigation is actively underway to unmask the identity of the dispatch rider, trace the source of the ammunition, and determine the motive behind this threat,” Fatai said.
