
Lagos State maintains the highest concentration of registered voters in Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections, according to data released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The official figures were made public by INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan on Tuesday, October 6 during a World Press Conference in Abuja, convened as part of the commission’s comprehensive preparations for the forthcoming electoral cycle.
According to the demographic breakdown provided by the electoral body, Lagos leads the national tally with 7,488,633 registered voters, closely followed by Kano State with 6,000,570.
Kaduna State occupies third place with 4,000,640 electors, while Katsina State ranks fourth with 3,876,051.
Further down the distribution, Oyo State stands fifth with 3,588,111 registered voters, succeeded by Delta State with 3,525,988. Benue State records 3,057,225 electors, followed by Ogun State in ninth position with 3,037,981.
Rivers State accounts for 3,000,734 registered voters, while Bauchi State rounds out the top ten with 3,000,047.
