A pastor has said that a man is not fit for marriage if he has to rely on donations from people to fund his wedding.
Prophet Emmanuel Okeke, while preaching to members, said a man has to be able to fund his own wedding as this will make him more invested in the marriage.
He added that a man who doesn’t fund his wedding by himself will not know the “pain” and would easily end the marriage if he encounters minor difficulties.
He said: “You’re getting married and then you’re putting us in a group to support you… If you are not old enough to raise money for marriage, you don’t need to marry.
“If you need us to support you to marry, you should not marry. You’re not fit to marry.
“If you create a WhatsApp group for us to support you to marry, you’re not fit for marriage.
“If you cannot be able to raise money to marry a woman, you need our contribution… you’re not fit for marriage.
“You need to go through the marriage pain so that when your wife says, ‘you’re a fool’, you’ll endure it because you know if you divorce her, you know what you’ll go through to marry another one.”
