Veteran Nigerian entertainer Charlyboy has again, responded to netizens criticising his daughter’s engagement and questioning her decision.
In a post shared online, Charlyboy said his daughter is 50 years old and old enough to make decisions about her own life.
“How you wan tell 50-year-old woman how to live her life? At that age, she don already live enough life to know herself,” he wrote.
He said that as a father, he can advise and express his opinion, but does not have the right to control another adult’s life.
Charlyboy revealed that his daughter has five children and a great-grandson, adding that she will always remain his daughter regardless of the choices she makes.
He said she was previously in a marriage where she “see pepper” and later entered another relationship after leaving it.
“I no fit choose her happiness for her. My own father couldn’t stop me from becoming Charlyboy, the man I wanted to become. So who am I to stand in front of my daughter and try to control the life she has chosen for herself?” he asked.
Charlyboy said everyone deserves the freedom to pursue their own happiness, adding that he wishes his daughter and everyone else happiness.
“At the end of the day, na love remain. Make everybody live their truth and find their own happiness,” he added.
