Hamas ‘agreeing to things that are very important’

Hamas ?agreeing to things that are very important? - Trump says

US President, Donald Trump expressed optimism on Monday, October 6 saying he was “pretty sure” a Gaza peace deal was possible and that Hamas was agreeing to “very important” issues as indirect talks with Israel began in Egypt under his 20-point plan.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, the President addressed his red lines in the negotiations: “I have red lines, if certain things aren’t met we’re not going to do it.”

When asked if a precondition included Hamas agreeing to disarm, he added, “But I think we’re doing very well and I think Hamas has been agreeing to things that are very important.”

Trump said he was highly optimistic about the prospects of a final deal.

“I think we’re going to have a deal. It’s a hard thing for me to say that when for years and years they’ve been trying to have a deal,” he remarked.

“We’re going to have a Gaza deal, I’m pretty sure, yeah.”

He also dismissed reports that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had been negative about the talks, stating that the Israeli Prime Minister had been “very positive about the deal.”
