Residents said the family had not been seen since last Saturday, prompting concern among neighbours as to their whereabouts.
Their decaying lifeless bodies were discovered on Tuesday after worried neighbours broke into their apartment to initiate a search of the family members.
Residents say the bodies were found in their sitting room in a state that appeared as though they were eating before the incident, giving rise to suspicion that they could have d!ed of food poisoning or fumes inhaled from their generator.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Maureen Chinaka, said an autopsy would be conducted on the bodies to determine the cause of their de@th.
“Yes, the attention of the Osisioma Divisional Police Headquarters was drawn to the incident on 22/07/2026 by the brother of the deceased who reported that after being unable to reach Kachi Nnabugwu, they proceeded to his residence at Umuimo Village, Osisioma Local Government Area.
Upon arrival, repeated knocks yielded no response. They subsequently forced entry into the house, where they discovered the lifeless and decomposing bodies of their brother and his family.
