A man and his daughter have been banished from their community following allegations that the man had carnal knowledge of his daughter.
The incident occurred in Nenwe Community, Enugu State.
A video shows the community members parading the father and daughter, with palmfronds on their neck as a way to shame them.
The daughter carried a backpack and appeared to wipe away tears from her eyes as the villagers led them out of the community.
“We’re banishing you today, not because it brings us joy, but because what you’ve done is an abomination,” an elderly man said to the man and his daughter.
The video has sparked mixed reactions, with many pointing out that the girl is a victim and does not deserve to be banished alongside her father.
