Eight suspects arrested over k!lling of man buried alive in Benue community

Eight persons have been arrested in connection with the k!lling of a 32-year-old man, Nyamkyegh Mpalegh, who was allegedly beaten and buried alive in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.

The incident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on April 27, 2026 in Tse-Bata community, Mbakyagher Council Ward.

The victim was reportedly assaulted before being buried alive by the suspects under circumstances that are still being investigated.

A security team was mobilised to the area following the report, leading to the arrest of eight suspects believed to be connected to the crime.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the body of the victim was later exhumed and deposited at a mortuary for further examination.

He noted that investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the k!lling and ensure that all those involved are brought to justice.
