Reality TV star Ike Onyema has sparked online debate after countering statements made by influencer Ife Agoro regarding the high-profile Lindsay Clancy murder trial.
The exchange began after Agoro posted a video criticizing men who called for capital punishment against Clancy, a US mother accused of killing her three young children. Ife argued that critics fail to understand the severe weight of postpartum depression.
Responding to her remarks, Onyema questioned whether society would extend the same empathy to a father, asking if a similar psychological defense would be accepted if a man murdered his children and blamed it on PTSD or a testosterone spike.
Clancy is currently on trial for three counts of murder following a January 2023 incident in Duxbury, Massachusetts, where she strangled her children—aged five, three, and eight months—before jumping from a second-story window in a failed suicide attempt that left her paralyzed. While she does not dispute the killings, her defense argues she lacks criminal responsibility due to postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder, claiming auditory hallucinations commanded her to commit the acts.
