Shock has hit the Tansian University community in Umunya, Anambra State, following the sudden d+ath of its newly inaugurated Vice Chancellor, Professor Carter Dike Umeoduagu.
The 44-year-old Professor of Microbiology reportedly took ill and d+ed on October 3, shortly after assuming office as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the university.
Umeoduagu had previously served as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) at Tansian University and was also a former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, where he represented Aguata 1 Constituency.
His sudden d+ath came amid a period of leadership challenges at the university, with his tenure ending almost as soon as it began.
