William Maddox, 35, was shot and killed on Tuesday in his car in the driveway of an empty home, according to Rochester Police.
The home on Alphonse Street off Hudson Avenue allegedly participated in the sale of cocaine and marijuana, according to the police.
Due to the ongoing sensitivity of the case, the victim’s identity has not been made public. There was no William Maddox obituary to be found online as a result.
35 Years Old William Maddox Death In Rochester
A Rochester man, 35, was found shot to death inside a car on Alphonse Street early on Tuesday morning, according to Rochester Police.
According to Rochester Police Capt. Ryan Tauriello, just after 1:30 in the morning, officers got a ShotSpotter warning informing them that shots had been fired near Hudson Avenue and Alphonse Street.
Officers found William Maddox in the driver’s seat of a car parked in the driveway of 159 Alphonse Street, according to Capt. Frank Umbrino.
Maddox was shot numerous times, and as a result, he was killed instantly, becoming Rochester’s 75th homicide of 2022.
Umbrino claimed that it appeared that Maddox had been inside a parked car in the driveway for “a substantial amount of time” before an attacker came close and started shooting at it.
RPD officers arrived to the homicide after hearing reports of gunfire at 1:30 in the morning. When the officers arrived, they discovered Maddox dead. Investigators believe that someone approached the car and fired it repeatedly.

William Maddox was killed, but the cause of his death is unknown, according to RPD, who asks that anyone with information phone 911.
