20-year-old woman bags 15-year jail sentence for r@ping husband?s 15-year-old brother

A 20-year-old woman from Bikita, Zimbabwe has been jailed for 15 years after a court convicted her of r@ping her husband’s 15-year-old half-brother. Magistrate Innocent Bepura sentenced her at the Masvingo Regional Court on 21 May 2026. She had pleaded not guilty to aggravated indecent assault but was found guilty after a full trial.

According to TellZim, the prosecution told the court the incident happened in February 2026. The boy had gone to his brother’s home in Soma Village, Bikita, to ask for money for sports. His brother was not there. “The accused invited the boy to stay the night, assuring him that her husband would return the following day,” said prosecutor Nixon Chamisa.

The prosecution said that evening, the woman made the boy a bed in the dining room. Later, the prosecution said, she returned, showed him pornographic videos on her phone, and fondled him. The prosecution told the court she then went to her bedroom, came back wearing only underwear, and dragged the boy into her room, where she r@ped him.

The prosecution also said the woman threatened the boy the next morning. She told him her husband had a history of violence at work and would kill him if he spoke out.

The court heard that the boy told his aunt, who beat him and told him to keep quiet. She then called the boy’s mother to collect him. Once in his mother’s care, the boy told her everything. Other relatives opposed involving the police, the court heard, but the mother reported the matter.

In her defence, the woman denied the charges. She said the boy initiated the contact and that she gave in because she had been “s3x-starved” during her husband’s month-long absence. Magistrate Bepura rejected her defence and sentenced her to 15 years in prison.
