12-Year-Old Accused in Teen’s Death Admits Machete Possession – In a tragic incident that unfolded on November 13 of the previous year, Shawn Seesahai, a 19-year-old, met his untimely end at a park in Wolverhampton. The circumstances surrounding his death have led to a legal predicament involving two young boys, both aged 12, who are accused of being involved in the incident. The case has taken a turn as one of the accused boys has admitted to possessing a machete at the scene of the alleged crime, while both boys deny any involvement in the murder of Shawn Seesahai.
The two boys, due to their age, cannot be named in the media for legal reasons. They appeared in person at Wolverhampton Crown Court, where they both pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder. Their court appearance was brief, lasting only an hour, during which they were only required to confirm their names and enter their pleas. Following the hearing, it was confirmed that both boys are being detained in secure accommodation located outside the West Midlands.

The tragic incident occurred on Stowlawn playing fields in East Park, Wolverhampton, where Shawn Seesahai was found stabbed and later pronounced dead at the scene. One of the boys involved in the case admitted to possessing a machete ‘without good reason or lawful authority’ at the time of the incident, while his co-accused denied the same charge.
The legal proceedings have been scheduled to continue with a trial that is expected to last up to four weeks, with the trial set to commence on April 29. The trial will take place at Nottingham Crown Court. The incident was reported to the authorities at 8.41 pm on November 13, when emergency services were called to the scene. Shawn Seesahai, who had only been in the UK since April, was found in a critical condition and was subsequently confirmed dead at the scene.
In a heartfelt statement released through the police, Shawn Seesahai’s mother paid tribute to her son, describing him as a ‘courageous, compassionate, and confident young soul’. She expressed her son’s aspirations and his deep care for his family and friends, highlighting his generosity and positive personality. The mother concluded her statement by expressing the enduring love and memories of her son, stating that he will always be in their hearts.
