Newsypeople- Martins Vincent Otse popularly known as Verydarkman, a controversial social media critic, has been released from police custody in Abuja after more than three weeks of detention.
A Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday granted him bail after he was charged with expenses related to cyber stalking and posting offensive videos on his Instagram account containing statistics that turned into “grossly offensive, pornographic or indecent, obscene or threatening individuals”.
Verydarkman was supposed to have been arrested on March 22 mainly following complaints by actresses Tonto Dikeh and Iyabo Ojo and singer Samklef who accused him of cyberbullying and cyberstalking.
He was released on March 31, but was later re-offended and charged in court on May 22.

Police alleged that he made indecent allegations against Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh, alleging that Ojo began having indecent sexual dalliances with her daughter and that Dikeh was the person at the end of the gossip blog Gistlover.
Verydarkman denied all awards presented in opposition to him. His lawyer disclosed that the arrest was mainly based on the court cases of Tonto Dikeh, Iyabo Ojo and Samklef.
The prosecution requested that he be taken to jail, but his crime crew requested that he remain in police custody, which the court granted, leading to his transfer to the National Cyber Crime Centre.
After posting bail, Verydarkman was released from police custody on Monday. Nigerians expressed their joy at his release and many celebrated his victory on social media like Nairaland.
