Reports that Heard’s team wanted proof of Depp’s alleged erectile dysfunction introduced during the trial surfaced after the court unsealed pre-trial records that revealed fresh information about some of the evidence that wasn’t presented to the jury. They contended that it was relevant to her charges against him.

Those allegations included graphically detailed instances of abuse that allegedly occurred in their relationship. “Though Mr. Depp would rather not disclose his erectile dysfunction condition, such condition is absolutely relevant to sexual violence …” Heard’s team argued to the judge (per PEOPLE).

They added, “Depp’s erectile dysfunction makes it more probable that Mr. Depp would be angry or agitated in encounters with Amber Heard …”

Lawyers claimed Amber Heard ‘wants a circus’ after bringing up Johnny Depp’s alleged erectile dysfunction

According to PEOPLE, Depp’s lawyers reacted to the request to provide erectile dysfunction proof during the trial that was broadcast on television. They described it as an effort to stir up a media frenzy in their filing to the judge.

They asserted that Heard’s side “wants a circus” and will lead the courtroom “down a variety of unnecessary salacious rabbit holes, including and especially with respect to Mr. Depp’s medical history” during the trial.

Depp argued throughout the trial that he had never harmed Heard physically or sexually in their relationship. He asserted that she was the one who had been physically abusive throughout the marriage and expressed his desire for a “peaceful, quiet” dissolution.

Unsealed documents suggested Johnny Depp’s team reserved the right to use Amber Heard’s past against her

These previously unsealed court filings state that Depp’s legal team asked to use Heard’s nude images as proof. On the basis of a “short stint as an exotic dancer” years ago, her defense team further asserted that the opposing counsel sought to “frivolously and maliciously infer or imply that Ms. Heard was at one point an escort.”

Her attorneys successfully claimed that it would be improper to bring up “irrelevant personal things” during the widely publicized trial in response to such requests.

Notably, Heard’s side has filed an appeal after trying unsuccessfully to get the court to declare a mistrial. A spokesman for Heard told PEOPLE that the company “believes the court committed errors that prohibited a reasonable and fair verdict compatible with the First Amendment” and that “there are steps we need to take to assure both fairness and justice.”
