US-based gospel singer David Ayuba has finally reacted to the ongoing controversy involving his wife, Mayowa Lambe, and her estranged husband, Roby Ekpo.
His response came shortly after Mayowa, through her legal team, issued a cease-and-desist letter accusing Roby of making false and defamatory claims about her.
Mayowa Demands Apology, ₦100m Damages
In the letter, Mayowa Lambe reportedly denied having any existing marital relationship with Roby Ekpo, directly countering his earlier statements.
She demanded that he stop all alleged defamatory remarks, remove related content, issue a public apology, and pay ₦100 million in damages.
David Ayuba Reacts with Cryptic Messages
Following the development, David Ayuba took to Instagram to repost the legal document, accompanied by strong and cryptic messages.
“The path to greatness leaves no room for weakness, only strength. The ones in my corner understand me. I don’t owe explanations, and that’s enough,” he wrote.
In another post, he added: “Falsehood may travel fast, but truth arrives with consequences.”
Marriage Sparks Public Curiosity
News of Mayowa Lambe’s marriage to Ayuba had earlier caught many by surprise.
The couple reportedly tied the knot in Texas, United States, with several observers noting that there had been no public confirmation of her separation from Roby before the new union surfaced.
Fresh Allegations Emerge Around Ayuba
Meanwhile, the controversy has deepened with new claims circulating online about David Ayuba’s past.
A woman identified as Tolulope Johnson Abraham has been alleged to be his estranged wife, with reports suggesting they share children and had previously worked together as gospel singers.
However, these claims remain unverified, and neither Ayuba nor the said woman has publicly addressed them.
