Ms. Middleditch, a resident of Pakefield, Suffolk, was discovered lying unconscious on the floor of her bungalow in Grayson Avenue on March 25, 2023. The circumstances surrounding her death have led to a series of events that have captured the attention of the public and law enforcement alike.
Ms. Middleditch had previously informed her family and later the police that she had heard a noise at her door. Shortly after, two masked men forced their way into her home and assaulted her, causing her to fall to the ground. This incident was initially reported to the police, who launched an investigation into the matter. The initial suspects were two boys, aged 14 and 15 at the time, who were arrested on suspicion of murder. However, following further inquiries, the charges against these boys were upgraded to robbery and burglary with intent to steal.
The boys were released on bail pending further inquiries. Their case was then transferred to the Norwich Youth Court, where they were due to appear on June 10, 2023.
