He claimed that the Federal High Court of Abuja’s decision to impose punishment after he was found guilty of money laundering obligated him to provide court records to the DSS.

Doyin was needed to provide evidence that the Federal High Court in Abuja had cleared him of the case in which he was found guilty, fined, and given permission to return home, the source said.

On March 22, 1952, Okupe was born in Iperu, Ogun State, Nigeria. Agbonmagbe Bank employed his father, Chief Matthew Adekoya Okupe, as a banker.

He has four brothers: Kunle Okupe, Owo Okupe, Wemi Okupe, and Larry Okupe. His sisters are Aina Okanlawon and Bisola Ayeni.

He attended St. Jude’s School in Ebute Metta, Lagos, Igbobi College in Yaba, Lagos, and the University of Ibadan in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Okupe’s spouse is Aduralere Okupe. Their son is called Ditan Okupe.

On April 23, 2020, Okupe and his wife Aduralere tested positive for COVID-19, but they were later said to have recovered in May 2020.
