Steven Robin and Branden Estorffe shot dead during welfare check in the chest early on Wednesday morning in a Motel 6 parking lot, a Mississippi veterinarian shot and murdered two Bay St. Louis police officers.
According to the Biloxi Sun-Herald, police claimed they believed 43-year-old Amy Brogdon Anderson shot herself, but the commissioner of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety claimed that one of the policemen used his service weapon, and an autopsy would determine how she passed away.
After Amy Brogdon Anderson, 43, backed into a parking spot with a 10-year-old girl inside her car, Bay St. Louis Police Sgt. Steven Robin, 34, and Officer Branden Estorffe, 23, were dispatched to perform a welfare check.
According to the Sun-Herald, Anderson spoke with Robin and Estorffe for nearly 30 minutes. One of the policemen made a call to child protective services while they were talking. Anderson shot the two officers shortly after.
When police arrived, they discovered Estorffe severely injured and Robin dead in the parking lot. Despite being transported to the hospital, he passed away from his injuries. They also found Anderson, still in her vehicle, dead from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The identity of the female in Anderson’s car as well as what happened to her were unknown. Police in Bay St. Louis announced that they would hold a news conference early on Thursday.
