If only I had known back then! I’m stuck now. When I was 19, my mother passed away. My dad is still living. I have four older siblings, aunts, and uncles, but none of them have ever given me advice on marriage, relationships, or having children. I worked everything out on my own. I married my spouse (far older than me) at age 23 after meeting him at age 21 whilein school. I’ve never committed to a serious relationship or a man other than him. I’ve been carrying my cross in tears for over 13 years, and nobody seems to care.
I have nowhere to go and no money to start anything. Working for people has made it difficult for me to stay in a particular establishment for very long due to excuses regarding my kids because I don’t have a maid and a husband who is rarely around to help with the kids.
Young ladies, make sure you have a steady source of income before getting married, and don’t quit your job just because you’re married.
