Members of an anti-immigrant group, “March and March” and other protesters took to the streets of Qonce, Eastern Cape, South Africa on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, demanding the closure of businesses owned by foreigners.

The group allegedly stormed several businesses in the area, demanding documents from the foreigners to prove their legal status.

In a video posted by eNCA News, the group was seen confronting a Nigerian man, aggressively questioning him and insisting he close his car wash business.

The businessman said he fled a war in Nigeria and settled in South Africa in 2005, adding that he has an ID which he got from Home Affairs.
