‘Chelsea Disrespected Osimhen’ – Galatasaray Star Urged to Snub Troubled Premier League Giants

Former Nigeria and Lazio midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi has backed Victor Osimhen to join Spanish giants Real Madrid amid ongoing transfer rumours linking the striker with a move away from Galatasaray.

Speaking in an interview with Brila.net, Onazi said he believes Real Madrid would be the ideal destination for the Nigerian forward.

Osimhen has also been linked with renewed interests from Chelsea, but the parties recent past dealings and the club’s current situation makes a move to London unlikely.

“Apart from the fact that Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world, in the last two summers when Chelsea came, I know the full details about what happened.

“He told me everything and I am sorry to say Chelsea fans, but, I don’t think Osimhen will be willing to go to there because of what transpired.

“And with the new directors, the conditions they set for signing players won’t work out unless they improve or do something better in their terms and conditions.”

Onazi, however, insisted that Real Madrid would offer Osimhen the perfect environment to thrive.

“But, Real Madrid will be a perfect place for Osimhen because I know Mourinho will support him.

“All we will do is wish him well because he is our son and we must support him anywhere he goes. Mourinho will make him a better player and he is going to have the opportunity to perform. The environment will be absolutely perfect for him.”

During his playing career, Ogenyi Onazi featured across Africa, Europe, and Asia, but enjoyed his most successful spell at SS Lazio, where he made over 70 appearances and won the Coppa Italia.

On the international stage, he helped Nigeria win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, featured at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, and started all four matches at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
