A Reform UK councillor has stepped down after it emerged he was also a gay p0rn star.
Stephen Mousdell was elected to represent Haydock in last week’s local elections.
But an investigation by LBC found Mousdell has starred in videos featuring s£x acts published on the content-sharing website OnlyFans.
Mousdell announced this morning, May 15, that he is now stepping down from his post just a week after he was elected, stating that media coverage over his steamy side hustle has caused his partner, Kevin Lee, “pain”.
He said: “It is with sincere regret I am resigning as reform councillor for Haydock Ward.
“This is due to the immense pressures from the media, from individuals within the town hall, from certain parties and individuals who were not elected as councillor over a conflict of interest with regards to being a public figure in office and doing the Adult [sic] profession.
“I haven’t been in the right mental state as my depression and anxiety has been awful due to this and my relationship with Kev has been severely damaged and it has to be my number one priority.
“I want to also say thank you for giving me this great opportunity and welcoming me into the reform family but It [sic] is a shame that my profession doesn’t fit in with the standards to become councillor in the St Helens Town Hall.”
Lee, Mousdell added, has been his “rock” this week.
“I cant [sic] put him through any more pain than I already have as it is completely not fair. I love him for standing by me even when times was getting difficult,” Mousdell said.
Under the alias “LachlanTaylorUK,” Mousdell’s OnlyFans account describes him as a “gay pornstar and DJ”.
His profile picture on his now private X account shows him in a military outfit, while his about section says he is 5’7″, with size eight feet and an 8.5-inch appendage.
He is also into “workies”, “truckers” “bears”, and “stocky blokes”, various slang terms for hairy, bulkier queer men.
“DM for colab/general chat,” the section concludes, followed by a series of emojis.
The profile banner states that, as well as OnlyFans, “Lachlan Taylor” can also be found on the social media network Bluesky and the LGBTQ+ kink platform JustForFans.
Mousdell said on Facebook that he has always been “transparent and not ashamed” about being an adult content creator.
He added: “We have full-time jobs and also have adult professions, in which we abide by all EU and UK laws.”
Mousdell was elected as a councillor in the Haydock Ward after he won 1,331 votes.
Reform UK told Metro: “It’s a sad state of affairs that a media witch hunt has hounded an elected official out of office because of his private life.
“No wonder ordinary, law-abiding, working people are put off from standing for public office.”
Mousdell isn’t the first Reform councillor to step down in the past week. One councillor who was accused of making racist posts on social media resigned from his post days after he was voted in.
Stuart Prior, elected to Essex County Council, was expelled for allegedly describing white people as “the master race” on social media.
Another councillor, Nathaniel Menday, was suspended for failing to declare social media posts hailing the Nazis as visionaries.
