NFF Needs Emenalo, Mikel Obi – Etim Esin

Former Nigerian midfielder Etim Esin has called for urgent reforms in the country’s football system following the Country’s failure to qualify for two consecutive FIFA World Cups.

Speaking in a chat with Brila.net, Esin stressed the need for a clear long term plan, urging authorities to begin early preparations for the next World Cup.

He also questioned the continued presence of the current technical department of the NFF, noting that it has overseen repeated failures without accountability.

“Let’s call a spade a spade you failed twice to qualify for the FIFA World Cup, it’s not acceptable.

“Anyone they want to turn the table around a long term plan in the next four years how are we going to work towards this to make sure we qualify for the next World Cup that’s the problem.

“The technical department too, what are they doing Eguavoen (Austin) and co have been the head of technical department. For two consecutive world cups we didn’t qualify yet you people are still there.”

“We have people like Michael Emenalo who has proven that he is capable, and the experience of someone like Mikel (Obi) will help our fortunes,” Esin suggested.
