Trabzonspor beat Galatasaray 2-1 to close the gap at the top of the Turkish Super Lig to just one point, with both Paul Onuachu and Chibuike Nwaiwu proving decisive.
The hosts made a perfect start, taking the lead as early as the third minute. Paul Onuachu finished confidently after a precise cross from Wagner Pina.
Galatasaray responded after the break and found their equaliser in the 48th minute.
Wilfried Singo met a well-delivered cross from Barış Alper Yılmaz and fired a powerful right-footed shot into the net.
However, Trabzonspor regained control 14 minutes later.
Chibuike Nwaiwu restored the lead with a decisive header from a corner delivered by Anthony Nwakaeme, a goal that ultimately sealed the victory.

Galatasaray clearly felt the absence of Victor Osimhen, who missed the match through injury.
Despite dominating possession with 64%, completing 387 passes compared to Trabzonspor’s 202, and registering 19 shots, they failed to convert their chances effectively.

Turkey international Nihat Kahveci criticized Galatasaray’s performance after the match, saying:
“Osimhen is a very important player, but you can’t play this badly without him, bro. You should have a plan even when Osimhen is not there.”
On an individual level, Paul Onuachu continues his outstanding season now boasting 22 goals in the Super Lig.
The forward remains comfortably ahead of Eldor Shomurodov of Istanbul Başakşehir, who has scored 16 goals.
