Simba SC Eye Stanley Nwabali Ahead of New Season

Tanzanian giants Simba SC are closely monitoring Nigerian goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season.

Despite already having five goalkeepers on their roster, Simba are reportedly considering a move for Nwabali, who is currently a free agent.

The club’s current options include Ally Salim and Yakoub Suleiman, Moussa Camara, and Mahamadou Tanja with four of the five goalkeepers actively representing their national teams.

To balance their wage structure, Simba may offload one goalkeeper, creating room for a potential new signing.

Nwabali’s availability presents a significant market opportunity, especially given his experience and current free-agent status.

The 29 year-old recently parted ways with Chippa United in early February, despite having a contract that was due to run until June 2026.

Describing his departure as a difficult but necessary decision, Nwabali emphasized that career growth and personal happiness were key factors behind the move.

Since leaving the South African side, he has been training independently while awaiting his next club.

Simba believe that signing Nwabali would not only bolster their domestic campaign but also enhance their competitiveness on the continental stage.

The club currently sits second in the Tanzanian Premier League, with a top-two finish securing qualification for the CAF Champions League.

With ambitions of making a strong impact both locally and in Africa, Simba are expected to continue monitoring Nwabali’s situation closely as the summer transfer window approaches.
