Victor Osimhen has successfully undergone surgery following the injury he sustained during UEFA Champions League 2nd-leg, Round of 16 clash against Liverpool.
Galatasaray announced the development via its official X account, stating:
“In the away match we played against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, our player Victor Osimhen, who was injured and unable to continue the game, underwent a successful operation today at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital performed by our club doctor Op. Dr. Yener İnce.
“We extend our wishes for a speedy recovery to our footballer and hope for his return to the field at the earliest.”
Osimhen suffered a broken arm during the encounter, necessitating immediate surgical intervention. The striker is expected to be sidelined for approximately six weeks.
The first four weeks will focus on rest and recovery, followed by two weeks of individual training aimed at regaining full fitness.

As a result, the Nigerian will miss at least five matches for Galatasaray and could also be unavailable for the highly anticipated derby against Fenerbahçe on April 26, 2026.
This latest setback adds to a growing list of injuries for Osimhen this season.
According to Transfermarkt, the forward previously suffered an ankle injury in September 2025 while on international duty with Nigeria national team, as well as a hamstring injury in mid-November.
