The aftermath of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 final has taken a dramatic turn, as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) officially overturned the match result and awarded victory to Morocco.
In a decisive ruling, CAF announced:
“The CAF Appeal Board decided that in application of Article 84 of the Regulations of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the Senegal National Team is declared to have forfeited the Final Match of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 (“the Match”), with the result of the Match being recorded as 3–0 in favour of the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF).”
This means Senegal have officially forfeited the final, with Morocco awarded a 3–0 victory.

The decision has sparked strong reactions from Senegalese players.
Moussa Niakhaté took to Instagram, posting: “Come and get them! They’re crazy! 🏆X🏅”
Pape Demba Diop added: “I think we’re among the crazy folks 👍🏾”.
The players’ responses suggest frustration and disbelief within the Senegal camp.
