Chelsea Star Signals Interest in Super Eagles

Tosin Adarabioyo has reportedly indicated a willingness to commit his international future to the Nigeria.

Adarabioyo has reportedly reached out to head coach Eric Chelle to express his interest in representing the Super Eagles.

The Chelsea FC defender, who progressed through England’s youth system, has been on Nigeria’s radar since 2018 but is yet to make a senior international appearance.

In a recent interview, Adarabioyo reaffirmed his connection to Nigeria while maintaining a measured stance on his immediate future:

“I played for England at youth level. I was born in London, but I remain attached to my country of origin, Nigeria. I spent my holidays there last summer. It’s a wonderful country with a multitude of cultures.

“I followed the Super Eagles at the last Africa Cup of Nations, and they are a fantastic team. I would be delighted to wear the Super Eagles jersey, but for now, I remain focused on my club goals.”

Now 28 the defender who turns 29 on September 24 has not consistently shown firm commitment to Nigeria in the past.

During a visit to Nigeria last year, he stopped by Remo Stars, where he engaged with academy players.

Adarabioyo’s renewed openness comes during a challenging season at club level.

He has made 14 Premier League appearances starting seven and featured four times in the UEFA Champions League.
