Despite the setback, the home crowd continued to rally behind the team something Osimhen highlighted after the final whistle.

“Our fans were very loud, I want to thank them. We could hear them very clearly. Even when we were down to 10 men, they kept supporting us non-stop. This is something very valuable for us to keep going in matches like this. I also want to congratulate my teammates for the unity, performance, and fighting spirit they showed.”

Looking ahead, Osimhen turned his attention to Galatasaray’s upcoming clash against Liverpool F.C. in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.

“We will be facing Liverpool, one of the world’s best teams, and we are also one of the world’s best teams at the same time.”

He added that the derby victory could provide a confidence boost heading into the crucial European fixture.
