Osimhen Insists Galatasaray Success Is Collective

Victor Osimhen has responded to claims that Galatasaray are a different side with him in the team, insisting that the club’s success is built on collective effort rather than individual brilliance.

Speaking to Sky Italia, the Nigerian striker was asked about comments from Turkey suggesting there is a Galatasaray with Osimhen and a Galatasaray without Osimhen.

The forward acknowledged the responsibility but quickly shifted the focus to his teammates and the club’s history.

“Well, this is a very big challenge, a very big responsibility. But I think the issue is not just Osimhen.

“We also need to give huge credit to the rest of the team, to the other friends, because they really helped a lot in bringing the club to where it needs to be.

“This club is very big, a huge club worldwide, and we are one of the best. We have shown this many times.

“The legends who played at this club in the past have also proven it: we can say that we are the only club in Turkey that has taken the club to the European scene, and we have been doing this for many years.

“When people talk about a big club, this club’s name comes up; we have also done very good things for ourselves in the Champions League.

“Tomorrow we again have the opportunity to write a new page in our history; for me and my teammates.

“So for me, the issue is not about one single player. Of course, I am very grateful for the support I receive from the fans and the coach, and for the trust they have in me.

“But without these guys behind me, if they didn’t listen to me when I tried to motivate them forward, nothing would have been possible.

“I really owe them a huge thank you. Tomorrow too, we will all together, hand in hand, leading each other, try to get the maximum victory and advance to the next round.”

Osimhen’s numbers shows his impact since arriving at the club. He has recorded 52 goals and 13 assists in 64 appearances across all competitions.
