Osimhen Praises Juventus Ahead of Decisive Second Leg in Turin

Victor Osimhen has spoken with admiration about Juventus as Galatasaray prepare for their Champions League second leg clash in Turin.

The Nigerian striker, who played a decisive role in the first leg 5-2 victory with two assists, acknowledged the stature of the Serie A side while remaining focused on the task ahead.

“Juventus is one of the most important clubs, rich in history and a ton of legends have played for this team,” Osimhen said.

“Playing here would be a privilege. I’m happy at Gala but you never know in future. 90% of footballers in the world would want to play for Juve.”

Despite his admiration for the Bianconeri, Osimhen made it clear that his priority is delivering for Galatasaray.

Speaking to Sky Sports Italia, he outlined the mentality he intends to bring into the decisive encounter.

“If I can’t score a goal, if I can’t find a goalscoring opportunity, or even if there’s no assist to be made, I still fight for my team. I try to help them.

“We know that everything starts from the back, so it was very important for us to press high up the pitch and not let the opponent play out.

“When I see an opportunity to press the opponent, I also call my teammates forward to not allow them to play comfortable passes from the back. Because they have quality players; when they get the ball to certain players, they become very dangerous.

“We need to cut those passing connections so we can start our defense from the attack.

“So the press should be started first by me and the other winger; we have to build the defense from the front.

“For me, this was the right thing to do, and of course it was the coach’s instruction; I had to carry out my task. I’m happy that I did it in a disciplined and good way.

“I don’t think we’ll be a team that sits back tomorrow either. Yes, Juventus is a very big team, but we will go out on the pitch and try to give them the fight they deserve.

“It will be a very tough match; I’m also looking forward to it very much.”

Osimhen’s performance in the first leg highlighted his influence beyond goals, as his work rate and pressing disrupted Juventus and created opportunities for his teammates.

With a 5-2 advantage, Galatasaray head into the return fixture with confidence, but the striker insists there will be no complacency.

The decisive encounter is set for 9PM in Turin, where Galatasaray will aim to finish the job against one of Europe’s most historic clubs.
