Besiktas Slaps Hefty Price Tag on Wilfried Ndidi

Besiktas have rejected an approach from Ajax for Nigerian midfielder, Wilfried Ndidi.

According to reports from Ben Jacobs, Ajax submitted a proposal to sign the player on loan for €2 million, with an option to buy in the summer for €12 million.

Besiktas, however, considered the offer too low and immediately turned it down.

Ndidi has attracted interest from several European clubs during the winter transfer window.

He was also on Manchester United’s list, with rumours of internal discussions taking place over a potential move, but the club ultimately decided against pursuing a deal.

The midfielder remains a key part of Beşiktaş’s project.

Ndidi joined the Turkish club in the summer for a fee of €9 million and has already made 17 appearances.

An experienced and composed player, he is strong on the ball and primarily operates as a deep-lying midfielder, though he can also be deployed in a central midfield role.

Ndidi is the captain of the Nigerian national team and played an important role in Nigeria’s run to a bronze medal at AFCON 2025, featuring in four matches.

He has earned 75 international caps for Nigeria.
