OGC Nice forwards Terem Moffi and Jeremie Boga were subjected to violent racist abuse from a group of the club’s supporters on Sunday night following the team’s three to one defeat against Lorient.
According to multiple reports, up to four hundred fans gathered at the club’s training ground to confront the squad upon their return.
As the players stepped off the team bus, two supporters initially expressed their anger verbally before the situation escalated into physical violence.
Reports from RMC state that the Nigeria international and the Ivorian winger were the primary targets.

They were beaten, spat on repeatedly, punched in the face several times, and subjected to racist insults. The assault is believed to have been racially motivated.
Sporting director Florent Ghisolfi was also harassed during the incident.
Due to the severity of the abuse, Moffi has been placed on sick leave for one week while Boga has been excused for five days.
Nice released a statement on Monday condemning the acts in the strongest terms.
“On Sunday, on their return from Lorient, the Eaglets were welcomed at the training ground by an important gathering. The club understands the frustration created by the succession of poor displays and performances far from its values. However, the excesses we saw during this gathering are unacceptable. A few members of the club have been attacked. OGC Nice gives them its full support and condemns these acts with the highest toughness.”
According to reporting by Santi Aouna, head coach Franck Haise is now considering resigning due to the shocking events.
This incident has sparked widespread concern across French football and renewed calls for stronger measures to protect players from violence and racism.
