Super Falcons debutant, Joy Omewa continued her outstanding goalscoring form in Europe, finding the net once again as Fortuna Hjørring cruised to a dominant 5–0 away win over Odense in the Danish Women’s League.
The in-form Super Falcons striker came off the bench to score her 12th league goal of the season.
After a cagey opening hour, Fortuna Hjørring broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute through Nikoline Nielsen.
Samantha Kuhne added a second just five minutes later before Sydney Masur struck twice in quick succession to put the visitors 4–0 up.
Omewa, who was rested at the start following her midweek UEFA Women’s Europa Cup outing, replaced Josefine Valvik in the 57th minute and wasted no time making her mark.
Deep into stoppage time (90+5), she calmly slotted home her side’s fifth of the evening.
Joy Omewa Continues Her Red-Hot Form
Her goal against Odense lifts her league tally to 12 goals and her overall season total to 19 goals in 20 matches across all competitions.
The Nigerian forward has been instrumental to Fortuna Hjørring’s title push and remains one of the most productive attacking talents currently representing Nigeria in Europe.
It can be said that her form earned her first Super falcons Call-Up, where she made her debut against Benin Republic, in the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Fortuna Stay Second as European Duty Beckons
Fortuna Hjørring remain second in the Danish top-flight standings with 26 points from 13 matches, six points behind leaders HB Køge.
