Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie has been shortlisted for the prestigious The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper 2025 Award, capping off a remarkable year that has seen her emerge as one of the most consistent and influential goalkeepers in world football.
At just 23, Nnadozie’s journey from Rivers Angels in Nigeria to European stardom serves as a testament to her dedication.
The Super Falcons shot-stopper’s nomination, confirmed by FIFA on Thursday following the official launch of the global voting process, places her among an elite list of nominees that includes;

Historic Season with Paris FC
Chiamaka Nnadozie produced an exceptional performances throughout the 2024/25 campaign. The 23-year-old goalkeeper played a central role in Paris FC’s first major title in two decades.
Nnadozie kept a clean sheet and saved two penalties in the shootout in their triumphant run in the Coupe de France Féminine, where they stunned Paris Saint-Germain Féminine in the final.
She also guided Paris FC to the French league playoffs, proving her consistency and dominant presence between the posts throughout the season.
Her outstanding campaign as one of the most reliable goalkeepers in Europe before securing a high-profile move to Brighton & Hove Albion Women in England, where she has continued to impress in the FA Women’s Super League.
Golden Year with the Super Falcons
Nnadozie’s brilliance also extended to the international stage. She was instrumental in helping Nigeria reclaim the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Rabat, Morocco, earlier this year.
Throughout the tournament, she kept four clean sheets in six matches, conceding only twice from open play, both in the final against the hosts, as Nigeria clinched a record-extending 10th continental crown.
Her performances earned her the Golden Glove Award as Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament.

Nnadozie’s FIFA nomination follows a series of high-profile recognitions in recent months.
- She was a finalist for the 2025 Women’s Yachine Trophy at the Ballon d’Or ceremony, where she finished fourth, and

FIFA has opened the global voting process for fans, journalists, coaches, and national team captains worldwide via the official FIFA app, allowing football supporters to participate in determining the winners of the 2025 The Best FIFA Football Awards.
Winners will be announced at a glamorous ceremony later this year, where Nnadozie could become the first African woman to win the FIFA Best Goalkeeper Award.
