Paul Onuachu played a decisive role in Trabzonspor’s 2–1 away victory over Rizespor, helping his side maintain their strong start to the season.
Trabzonspor took the lead just two minutes into the match through Felipe Augusto, whose early strike gave the visitors confidence.
Meanwhile, their momentum continued, and in the 19th minute, Onuachu doubled Trabzonspor’s advantage with a swift header after a precise cross from Christ Inao Oulai.
Rizespor responded quickly, with Jesurun Rak-Sakyi reducing the deficit in the 27th minute.
The second half saw the hosts dominate possession and push for an equaliser.
Rizespor recorded 60 percent possession, 15 shots, and 219 passes, compared to Trabzonspor’s 40 percent possession, three shots, and 140 passes.
Despite their dominance, Rizespor were unable to truly test goalkeeper Andre Onana, as the Burgundy Blues failed to utilize their chances.

Onuachu stood out not only for his goal but also for his overall contribution.
The forward completed 26 passes, including four into the final third, and created one chance.
He registered 100 percent accuracy in both shooting and long balls. Defensively, Onuachu helped the team, tracking back to support and help the defense.
Onuachu finished the match with four clearances, two ball recoveries, two ground duels, and six aerial duels won.
The result keeps Trabzonspor in second place on the table, five points behind league leaders Galatasaray.
Onuachu currently leads the league’s Golden Boot race with seven goals.
