Victor Osimhen made his return from injury in Galatasaray’s 1-0 victory over Alanyaspor in the Super Lig.
It was the Nigerian’s first appearance since picking up an injury against South Africa in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Osimhen was introduced in the 85th minute, replacing Barış Alper Yılmaz. The striker looked sharp and fully recovered.
His return is a welcome boost for head coach Okan Buruk as Galatasaray prepares to face Liverpool on Tuesday 30th September in the UEFA Champions League.

It is a must win for the Turkish giants, who suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat on matchday one of the competition.
Osimhen’s presence will be vital, especially considering the difference he makes when leading the line in European games.

Buruk is not the only coach delighted with Osimhen’s return.
Nigeria’s head coach Eric Chelle will be grateful to have the forward back at full fitness with the Super Eagles’ final World Cup qualifiers on the horizon.
Galatasaray and Buruk may be reluctant to release Osimhen for international duty, but with the striker now fully fit, they will have no choice.
After Osimhen’s injury against South Africa, Buruk expressed his concern:
“Always worry whenever he goes on international duty and tonight we experienced that fear again. We contacted him and the feedback we got is that he has pain in his foot.”
Osimhen is set to feature in his first Champions League game in over two seasons when Galatasaray hosts Liverpool on Tuesday.
A standout performance could put his name back on everyone’s lips.
