Moses Simon Struggles as Paris FC Fall in Historic Ligue 1 Return

Moses Simon had a disappointing start to life at Paris FC, as his side suffered a 1–0 defeat to Angers in their first Ligue 1 match in 46 years.

The newly promoted side went behind in the 9th minute. Esteban Lepaul was in space in the box, Jordan Lefort played a precise pass which he fired home from the centre of the box.

Paris FC tried to draw level and despite dominating large spells of the match, they couldn’t get past Herve Koffi.

Paris FC were the better side, they controlled the game with 68% possession, 17 total shots with seven on target, and completed 531 passes, showing their dominance in the midfield.

But, the lack of being able to convert their chances and Angers five man defense affected them.

Angers goalkeeper, Koffi was outstanding making eight saves, completing 20 accurate passes, and delivering 10 successful long balls.

Jordan Lefort also impressed on the night. The centre back provided the assist for Lepaul’s goal, completed 34 accurate passes, played five balls into the final third, and was solid defensively making six clearances, three recoveries, and winning 100% of his ground and aerial duels.

Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon had a very quiet debut.

He played 72 minutes, registered only three touches in the opposition box, completed just two of seven attempted dribbles, made one pass into the final third, and delivered only one accurate cross from five attempts.

Paris FC will now face Olympique Marseille in their next fixture.

Marseille will be looking to bounce back after a 1–0 loss to Rennes, and Paris FC will need to be at their very best to secure at least a point.
