Victor Boniface Set for AC Milan Move After Verbal Agreement Reached

AC Milan have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Bayer Leverkusen and Victor Boniface for the transfer of the Nigerian striker.

The deal includes a €5 million loan fee, with a €24 million non-mandatory buy option, and a contract reportedly running until 2030. The final step before the move is completed is Boniface’s medical examination.

The 24-year-old striker didn’t get as many minutes in the 2024/25 season compared to the previous season at Bayer Leverkusen.

He started only 12 Bundesliga games, scoring eight goals and providing one assist. He netted 11 goals across all competitions last season.

His performances were important in the club’s strong Bundesliga campaign over the course of two seasons, although injuries and fluctuating form saw him occasionally lose his starting place to Patrik Schick.

Boniface’s departure from Leverkusen follows a period of uncertainty. Earlier this year, the Nigerian dismissed transfer rumors, insisting he was committed to the Bundesliga club.

A potential move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr collapsed in the winter window, and the player had reaffirmed that he intended to stay.

Despite these setbacks, interest from AC Milan persisted, leading to the current agreement.

At AC Milan, Boniface is expected to play a key role in attack under Massimiliano Allegri.

Known for his physical presence, movement, and goal-scoring ability, he is seen as a decent investment to strengthen Milan’s front line and support their ambitions in both Serie A and European competitions.

Boniface’s move marks a major step in his career, giving the Nigerian striker a platform to showcase his talents at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The official signing is expected once he passes his medical tests in the coming days.
