Adebayo Adeleye Joins FC Volos After Contract Expiry

Nigerian goalkeeper, Adebayo Adeleye has completed a move to Greek Super League side FC Volos following the expiration of his contract with Cypriot club Enosis Neon Paralimni.

FC Volos, considered a mid-table club in Greece’s top flight, has set its primary goal for the new season as staying in the division.

Adeleye’s arrival is expected to strengthen their squad as they prepare for the new campaign.

The 24-year-old has previously featured for clubs including Hapoel Katamon, Hapoel Jerusalem, and Enosis Neon Paralimni.

He made his most appearances for Hapoel Jerusalem, where he played 103 games and established himself as a reliable first-choice goalkeeper.

Internationally, Adeleye was part of Nigeria’s U17 setup in 2017 and was promoted to the U20 team a year later.

He received his first senior call-up in June 2022 and made his debut in 2023 in a 3–2 win over Sierra Leone during an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

During the 2023–24 season, Adeleye made 32 appearances, kept 10 clean sheets, and conceded 45 goals.

Off the pitch, he also participated in the Troost-Ekong Charity event held in Nigeria last month, which featured several celebrities and sports personalities.

Adeleye now begins a new chapter in his career in Greece, aiming to help Volos maintain their top-flight status.
