Steve Cooper’s primary focus will be to keep Leicester in the Premier League following their return. The club is set to face a points deduction for violating profitability and sustainability regulations (PSR) for the three-year period ending 2022-23, creating a potentially difficult summer.
Ideally, Leicester would generate sales before June 30 to alleviate concerns about complying with financial rules.
Cooper has a strong reputation in the game for his qualities as a coach and a leader. He has built an excellent reputation for developing players and implementing a dynamic style of play, which aligns with Leicester’s aspirations for the club.
As a leader, he has the ability to build on the strong relationship that has been forged between the fans and the team, strengthening a bond that will be vital to the club’s success in the Premier League.
Cooper’s appointment marks a new chapter for Leicester City, who are set to return to the Premier League following their promotion from the Championship. He will begin his new role by working with the playing squad, which is due to return to pre-season training in early July.
