Historic Night for Hosts

Morocco have carried the pressure of expectation throughout the tournament as hosts, making the win a significant one for the host country.

After falling short at the semi-final stage in previous editions, the Atlas Lions have now taken a huge step toward continental glory, set to battle Senegal for the AFCON 2025 title.

For Nigeria, the defeat ended their impressive AFCON scoring streak and dashed hopes of a second consecutive final appearance, with attention now turning to the third-place play-off against Egypt.

As for Morocco, belief is growing rapidly. With the backing of their fans, a settled squad, and a goalkeeper in inspired form, the Atlas Lions will now dream of lifting the AFCON trophy on home soil; 22 years after their last final appearance.
