NWFL champions, Bayelsa Queens are primed to represent at the 2025 WAFU B Women’s Champions League qualifiers, scheduled to take place in Ivory Coast from August 9 to 24.

The West Africa Football Union Zone B (WAFU B) confirmed the dates and host nation via a circular shared by the Ghana Football Association.

Nigeria’s First Two-Time Representative at WAFU B

Bayelsa Queens, affectionately nicknamed the Prosperity Girls, will become the first Nigerian club to appear twice in the WAFU B Women’s Champions League qualifying tournament.

They made history on their debut in 2022, when they:

Won the WAFU B title, defeating US Forces Armées (Burkina Faso) 3–1 in the final.

Finished third at the CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco — the best finish by any Nigerian club in the tournament’s history.

2024–25 NWFL Champions Eye Continental Return

Bayelsa Queens earned their qualification after winning the 2024–25 Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership Super Six Playoffs, led by head coach Whyte Ogbonda.

Now, they aim to reclaim the WAFU B crown and book a return to the CAF Women’s Champions League, which will again feature Africa’s elite clubs later this year.
