Victor Boniface on AC Milan’s Shortlist

AC Milan are reportedly interested in Nigerian striker Victor Boniface, according to journalist Luca Bianchin. He is one of the center-forwards listed on Milan’s shortlist for the attacking position.

The club’s board believes Boniface has the qualities to succeed at Milan, but there are concerns about his injury history. Bayer Leverkusen value the player between €40–€50 million.

Boniface was close to joining Al Nassr during the winter transfer window, but the move ultimately fell through.

Leverkusen’s new manager, Erik ten Hag, has stated that Boniface is part of his plans. While the club is not desperate to sell, they would consider a good offer.

The 24-year-old striker scored just 10 goals in all competitions last season. His dip in form was largely due to multiple injuries, which caused him to miss 14 matches.

Boniface suffered five different setbacks last season: a knock, a hamstring injury, a fitness issue, a thigh problem, and a four-day illness. In total, he missed 23 games for both club and country during the 2023/24 campaign.

His most serious injury came in 2021, when a cruciate ligament tear kept him out for 358 days, causing him to miss 56 matches.
