Speaking after the match, Flying Eagles coach Aliyu Zubairu said:

“The players made up their minds that they had to go all out for the three points here, and that is what motivated them. Now it’s simple — we have to go all out for the three points against Colombia, it’s as simple as that.”

Daniel Daga added:

“We’re happy with the victory against Saudi Arabia. It was not easy, and now we want all three points against Colombia.”

Nigeria currently sits third in the group, while Colombia and Norway are level on both points and goal difference.

All three nations can still progress to the knockout stage, while Saudi Arabia have been eliminated following their losses to both Colombia and Nigeria.
