‘The World Is Not Ready’ – Nnadozie After Winning Hat-trick CAF Goalkeeper Award

Nigeria enjoyed an historic night at the 2025 CAF Awards held on Wednesday in Rabat, Morocco, as star goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie claimed the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award for an unprecedented third consecutive year.

Nnadozie’s third straight triumph follows her wins in 2023 and 2024, making her one of only a handful of players (male or female) to win a CAF Award three times in a row.

She was instrumental in Nigeria’s 10th WAFCON title, kept four clean sheets in six matches, and has continued her rise at club level, first with Paris FC and now with Brighton in the Women’s Super League.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a spectacular year for both club and country.

The Nigeria National Women team,  Super Falcons were also crowned Women’s Team of the Year in the same night following their 2024 WAFCON triumph and 10th title in the Women’s continental tournament.

 

Nnadozie Crowned Goalkeeper of the Year, Again

Nigeria’s No. 1, Chiamaka Nnadozie, lit up the ceremony as she was named CAF Female Goalkeeper of the Year (2025), marking a historic third straight win after previously claiming the award in 2023 and 2024.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a spectacular year for both club and country.

Following her victory, Nnadozie has expressed her deep pride and gratitude after winning the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award for the third consecutive time, describing the honour as hugely significant for her and her family.

The 24-year-old Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper was announced as the 2025 winner on Wednesday night at the CAF Awards in Rabat, Morocco, extending her dominance as Africa’s top shot-stopper.

“A Very Big Thing for Me and My Family” – Nnadozie

Speaking moments after receiving the award, Nnadozie shared her deep pride and gratitude after winning the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award for the third consecutive time.

She described the honour as hugely significant for her and her family and said she remained humbled despite her growing legacy.

“Winning this award the third time in a row is a very big thing for me and my family. I’m really really grateful for that,” she said.

She also praised her fellow nominees, Morocco’s Khadija Er-Rmichi and South Africa’s Andile Dlamini, calling herself “a big fan” of their work.

“To my fellow nominees, I just wanted to know that I’m a big fan of all of you and I watch all your games.”

“I know very soon we will not just be here every year in Morocco to compete against each other.”

“The World Is Not Ready for What Is Coming Out of Africa”

Nnadozie used her acceptance speech to celebrate the rise of African goalkeepers, insisting that the global football world is unprepared for the talent emerging from the continent.

“You guys are the best. I’m not sure the world is ready for what’s coming out from Africa and I believe in the nearest future all the African goalkeepers will be there in the world competing against the best goalkeepers.”

Club Brilliance: From Paris FC to Brighton & Hove Albion

At club level, Nnadozie helped Paris FC win the Coupe de France Féminine before sealing a major move to the English Women’s Super League, joining Brighton & Hove Albion.

She made an instant impact in England, delivering:
