Sheffield United Sign Nigerian Forward from Botev Plovdiv

Sheffield United have confirmed the signing of Nigerian forward, Ehije Ukaki, from Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv on a three year deal.

The 20 year-old winger arrives at Bramall Lane following a decent season in Bulgaria, where he made 37 appearances and scored seven goals across all competitions for Botev Plovdiv during the 2024/25 campaign.

Ukaki also featured in both the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League qualifiers.

Speaking on the club’s official website, Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder expressed his excitement at the addition of Ukaki to the squad.

“Ehije is a player who has been identified through our data driven strategy and is someone we are looking forward to developing,” Wilder said.

“He is an emerging talent, still only 20, who has enjoyed some experience of European football early in his career, so there is a base to work from.”

Ukaki becomes the second Nigerian player to join the Blades from Botev Plovdiv this year, following the arrival of fellow youngster Christian Nwachukwu in February.
