Paul Onuachu continued his impressive form in the Turkish Super Lig, finding the back of the net in Trabzonspor’s 1-1 draw with Alanyaspor.
The Nigeria international opened the scoring in the 15th minute, giving the home side an early lead before Lanis Hagi equalised for the visitors in the 73rd minute.
Beyond his goal, Onuachu delivered another strong all-round performance. The tall striker completed six passes, with three of them progressing into the final third.
He also made one accurate long pass and contributed defensively with a ball recovery.
This came despite Alanyaspor’s compact low-block defensive setup that made attacking opportunities limited.
Onuachu’s goal takes his tally to eight goals and one assist in the Turkish top flight this season, highlighting his importance to Trabzonspor’s attack.
However, the result did little to boost the team’s position in the standings.
Trabzonspor now sit on 25 points, trailing league leaders Galatasaray who have 29 points, while Fenerbahce are just behind with 28 points.
After the match, Trabzonspor head coach Fatih Tekke expressed disappointment with his team’s overall display.
He said the performance was far below expectations, noting that while the early pressing looked promising, the team failed to maintain their intensity.

Tekke stated that as Trabzonspor’s coach, he should not consider one point at home as a good result, but given the poor performance, the draw was acceptable.
He also emphasized the need for better defending and collective improvement, adding that everyone, including himself, shared responsibility for the dropped points.
Paul Onuachu will remain in Turkey during the international break, which offers him a chance to rest, train, and build on his form.
Trabzonspor will return to action against Basaksehir in their next league fixture.
