Victor Osimhen returned to UEFA Champions League action on Wednesday night, as Galatasaray settled for a point in a cagey match against Atletico Madrid at the RAMS Park.
Osimhen was thrown straight into the fray with Gala only days after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, albeit he did not feature in Nigeria’s final match in Morocco.

Super Eagles clinched the bronze medal after a 4-2 penalty shoot-out victory against the Pharaohs of Egypt. Osimhen was an unused substitute and returned to his club 48 hours after the match.
The 27 year-old forward closed his campaign at the AFCON with a six-goal contribution (4 goals and 2 assists), meanwhile, his stats in the UCL have been just as bright.
Galatasaray have relied greatly on goals from the Nigerian who has six goals, but had failed to score in the last two games.

That poor run continued last night as the summer signing failed to find the back of the net, and both team’s settled for a share of the spoils in a 1-1 outcome.
Giuliano Simeone opened the scoring inside four minutes, but the visitors saw their lead pegged following an own goal by Marcos Llorente (20′).
Meanwhile for Osimhen scored high in the match ratings despite registering no shots after 90 minutes of action.
The Nigerian marksman was however busy on the other end, contributing defensively with 4 clearances and 4 aerial duels.
Wednesday’s result ensured Galatasaray consolidated their playoff spot with a game left to play in the League phase.
